A family of show performers traveling around Europe and beyond: The Winter Family
Patrick Winter, Yuliya Winter, and their 5-year-old daughter, Nika, travel across Europe and beyond, entertaining people with their shows, all while longing for their home and life in safe Ukraine. Here is their story:
Patrick: “Life for us has always been about pursuing our passion for performing. I come from a family with a long history in the show and circus industry —I’m the 6th generation, and the circus world is part of who I am. I grew up surrounded by circus performances, watching performers in action and my parents leading the way.
Naturally, I became a circus performer myself. And I found my talent was Plate juggling. Later, in 2010, I joined ‘Falcon Corporation’ as a show producer and in 2016 became the C.E.O. Now, I lead the shows at Falcon Corporation with great passion, ensuring we deliver the best performances for our audiences across Europe and beyond.”
Yuliya: “I am from Ukraine. When I was 7, my grandfather took me to a trampoline school, and it quickly became my second home. I participated in numerous competitions, achieving great results. Later, I went to university and began my global performing adventure.
I performed in diving shows in China, in various shows in Germany, and across the USA, traveling to countless places. For two years, I had the privilege of performing in the world’s biggest circus - The Ringling Brothers and Barnum & Bailey Circus. Later, I earned a degree and became a trainer for kids at a trampoline school for five years, all while continuing to perform on contracts.”
A Life on the Move
Yuliya: “In 2015, Patrick and I met — back then, he was my boss. We got married two years later and welcomed our baby, Nika, two years after that.”
Patrick: “We have been based in Ukraine, living in Kharkiv, but most of our lives have been spent on the move - creating magic, sharing it with audiences everywhere, and doing it all together as a family. We work alongside reliable team members—amazing performers who come from all parts of the world.
Our performers are highly skilled athletes, divers, acrobats, martial artists, actors, and stunt performers who do the incredible — jumping from great heights, performing amazing acrobatics, and creating magic that keeps audiences holding their breath.
We perform across Europe and beyond in collaboration with world - renowned companies such as LEGOLAND in Denmark, Seoul Land in South Korea, Zoomarine Park in Italy, Movie Park in Germany, Santa Park in Finland, and many more companies eager to surprise their clients with beautiful shows.”
Nika’s Unique World
Patrick: “Nika is 5 now, and she has grown up in a unique world. She has been part of every rehearsal, every backstage moment, and every performance since she was born. She watches her mom perform tricks and proudly cheers for her.
She has been part of the magic of putting on a show from behind the scenes. At an early age, she has already lived in several European countries. She speaks fluent English and Russian and is learning German.
Nika is the youngest team member of our shows and cheers for every trick our artists perform — from the high dives to the incredible acrobatic feats.
This is the world Nika knows - traveling widely with artists from all over the world and spending time in incredible places.”
The War in Ukraine
Patrick: “But when the war in Ukraine started in 2022, our lives were shaken. We were no longer able to return to the land we called home. We are still holding onto hope.”
Nika joins the conversation: “When they stop throwing bombs, we can go to Ukraine.”
Patrick: “We believe in this. We all do.”
Yuliya: “I miss my home dearly. Our baby is growing, and Nika will soon start school, so it’s time for me to end my adventure traveling the world. We had such good plans for our life in Ukraine, but for now, we’ll be based in Germany until it’s safe to return. Home will always be home.”
Performing as a Passion Through Generations
Patrick: “Even with the challenges we’ve faced, Falcon Shows goes on. For us, performing isn’t just work—it’s our life. It’s a tradition passed down through generations, something that keeps us going, even during the hardest times.”
Patrick: We’re looking forward to the day we can return home to Ukraine. But in the meantime, we’ll continue bringing joy to audiences—audiences whose applause creates the magic that keeps us going.
